Patient Care Partner – Night Shift – 72 Hours Bi‑Weekly

About the role

The Patient Care Partner provides direct patient care on the night shift, supporting treatments and diagnostic studies as directed by a Registered Nurse. This role is part of the Med Surg 7 unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital‑Hazleton.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient‑centered care, including treatments and diagnostic procedures, following unit policies.
• Observe patients, communicate changes to the RN, and respond promptly to call lights or pages.
• Perform validated technical skills specific to the clinical specialty and unit practice.
• Complete quality control checks on unit equipment and assist with patient rounds.
• Support unit and hospital goals through teamwork, orientation of new staff, and effective communication.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED with less than 1 year of direct patient‑care experience or successful completion of LVHN’s technical partner course.
• Ability to follow directions, organize and prioritize assignments, and maintain unit‑specific competencies.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to obtain American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 30 days.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Pennsylvania state requirement).
• Computer skills for documentation and equipment checks.
