About the role

Experience Senior Living is looking for an experienced New Development Operations Specialist to provide operational leadership and support for new senior living communities, from pre-opening planning through opening and stabilization. The role suits someone who has previously served as an Executive Director and understands senior living operations, financial management, sales, team development and regulatory compliance. It involves extensive travel and may include long periods on-site before, during and after openings.

Key responsibilities

  • Support operational planning and execution of new community openings so teams, systems, processes, policies, vendors and resources are ready for day one.
  • Help develop and run pre-opening plans, timelines, readiness assessments and operational checklists.
  • Provide hands-on, on-site leadership during openings and the initial stabilization period, covering resident move-ins, staffing, workflows and service delivery.
  • Coach and support newly hired Executive Directors and train community leadership teams on operating standards, culture and systems.
  • Establish effective operating practices across staffing, financial management, sales and occupancy, resident experience and team engagement.
  • Support implementation of company systems, policies and procedures.
  • Prepare communities for licensing, inspections and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor performance after opening, identify gaps and recommend improvements to processes, tools and training.
  • Work with Operations, Sales, Health & Wellness, Culinary, People and Development, and capture lessons learned for future communities.

Required profile

  • Proven leadership experience as an Executive Director in a senior living environment; assisted living, memory care and independent living experience required.
  • Experience supporting new community openings, pre-opening operations, stabilization or major operational transitions strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience coaching, training and mentoring Executive Directors and community leaders.
  • Ability to manage many priorities and timelines in a fast-paced environment, travel extensively and stay on-site for extended periods.

Required skills

  • Strong understanding of senior living operations, regulations, financial management, sales and occupancy, staffing and best practices.
  • Organizational, problem-solving, communication and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build partnerships across community, regional and corporate teams.

What we offer

  • Annual salary of $125,000 - $140,000 and a 30% annual bonus target.
  • Medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, life and voluntary life insurance.
  • 401k with employer matching, paid holidays and up to 20 days PTO in the first three years.
