Personal Trainer

About the role

Abilene Christian University (ACU) is hiring a Personal Trainer in Abilene. The position is open to professing Christians who are willing to support the university's Christian mission. Trainers build their own clientele, conduct fitness assessments, offer free sessions to first-time clients and design safe, effective workout plans. The position has no scheduled hours.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce SRWC policies and procedures, keep client information confidential and ensure clients pay for services at the Member Services Desk after the free assessment and before the first session.
• Use Fusion Software at the Member Services Desk to record and maintain training records for each client.
• Design safe and effective individual and group training programs for clients with varying fitness levels, improving their health and wellness.
• Schedule free assessments, sessions and meetings with clients by email and phone, and provide a customer-friendly experience.
• Coordinate with SRWC senior staff, report equipment needing repair and accidents or injuries, and assist with other duties assigned by the Director of Facility Operations.

Required profile

• Professing Christian and willing to support the university's Christian mission.
• Personal Training certification; NASM certification preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Nutrition or a related field preferred.
• Current First Aid/CPR and AED certification through the American Red Cross.
• Ability to lift heavy weights and attend to visual and audible cues.

What we offer

• Paid per session: free sessions at $8, paid sessions ranging from $15 to $30.
• No scheduled hours.
