Onsite Immigration Specialist – Dallas or New York

About the role

Cartus is seeking an On‑site Immigration Specialist to join a major financial services client’s Americas immigration team. The role will be based either in Dallas, TX or New York, NY and will serve as a key liaison between the client, external counsel, and internal HR to execute the firm’s immigration strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of non‑immigrant and immigrant/green‑card visa matters.
• Track work progress, exercise judgment on escalations, and ensure immigration milestones are met.
• Coordinate with external immigration counsel and internal HR teams.
• Advise business partners and managers on immigration‑related decisions while ensuring policy compliance.
• Update stakeholders on immigration developments and handle ad‑hoc government inquiries.
• Support immigration needs for interns, new hires, and relocation projects such as the annual H‑1B lottery.
• Assist in updating policies, FAQs, and standardized communications.
• Conduct data validation and audits for immigration filings.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of corporate US immigration experience covering both non‑immigrant and immigrant/green‑card matters.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong analytical rigor with proven ability to perform accurate data audits.
• Client‑service orientation and proactive, self‑starting attitude.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, capable of explaining complex processes simply.
