Staff Technical Sourcer - Aircraft Engineering

About the role

Shield AI is seeking a Staff Technical Sourcer to lead talent discovery for its aircraft engineering teams. The role focuses on building intelligence, relationships, and scalable sourcing systems to attract world‑class engineers for advanced aerospace projects.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with recruiters and hiring leaders to define target profiles and design data‑driven sourcing strategies across aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, structures and related disciplines.
• Develop comprehensive talent market maps, uncover hidden talent pools, and provide competitive intelligence to guide workforce planning.
• Execute advanced Boolean searches and leverage platforms such as LinkedIn Recruiter, SeekOut, HireEZ, ClearanceJobs and GitHub to generate and engage passive, cleared candidates.
• Design and continuously improve AI‑powered sourcing workflows, research agents and automations that increase recruiter productivity and accelerate candidate discovery.
• Create repeatable sourcing documentation, talent intelligence reports and outreach content that can be reused across the Talent Acquisition organization.

Required profile

• 8+ years of technical sourcing experience, preferably in aerospace, defense or advanced hardware/software industries.
• Proven ability to conduct market mapping, competitive intelligence and pipeline cultivation for highly specialized engineering roles.
• Consultative partnership experience with recruiters, hiring managers and senior engineering leaders.
• Hands‑on experience building AI‑enabled sourcing workflows and using coding assistants such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT.
• Strong communication skills and a data‑driven, autonomous work style in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.
