About the role
The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) seeks a Nutrition Education Associate to deliver evidence‑based nutrition, food resource management, food safety, and physical activity education to low‑income adults and youth in Houston. You will work under supervision, using both in‑person and virtual formats, to empower families with practical, culturally relevant skills.
Key responsibilities
- Teach nutrition, food resource management, food safety, and physical activity concepts to adult and youth participants.
- Deliver lessons in English and Spanish, adapting content to diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Conduct classes in community settings such as schools, shelters, faith‑based organizations, and virtual platforms.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with local partners to identify and reach families in need.
Required profile
- Passion for nutrition education and community outreach.
- Ability to communicate clearly with low‑income audiences.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
