About the role
As a Support Teacher at Early Alpine Academy, you will float between classrooms, stepping in to provide reliable coverage when a Lead or Assistant Teacher is absent. This dynamic role supports the daily rhythm, ensures continuity of care, and helps create a calm, nurturing environment for children of various ages.
Key responsibilities
- Provide consistent classroom coverage, especially when a Lead or Assistant Teacher is out, maintaining continuity and care for children.
- Serve as a calm, grounding presence during transitions, busy moments, and routine changes, offering patience and warmth.
- Engage with children across age groups, building quick, positive connections through play and responsive interaction.
- Support daily rhythms such as drop‑off, meals, outdoor time, rest time, and classroom transitions to ensure children feel safe and secure.
- Collaborate with multiple teachers, adapting to different classroom styles while aligning with Early Alpine’s shared values.
- Assist during high‑energy or high‑need moments, providing extra support, flexibility, and care.
- Maintain a clean, organized learning environment by resetting spaces, preparing materials, and keeping shared areas safe.
- Learn on the job by observing experienced teachers, asking questions, and developing skills across age groups and settings.
Required profile
- Calm, grounded presence that builds positive, respectful relationships with children and adults.
- Curious, observant, and eager to learn on the job with a commitment to professional growth.
- Clear, warm communication with children, families, and team members.
- Reliable and accountable, able to step in and follow through consistently.
- Enrolled in the Montana Early Childhood Practitioner Registry (Level 0–2 to start).
- Eligible to pass a background check and obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
- Physically able to engage with young children throughout the day, including lifting, bending, and active play.
