Qualitative Researcher – Contract (Remote)

About the role

The Constructive Dialogue Institute is seeking experienced qualitative researchers on a contract basis to support large‑scale studies of campus culture. The work is fully remote, part‑time, and focuses on interviewing, focus‑group facilitation, and document analysis to inform the institute’s Culture Change team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct virtual one‑on‑one and small‑group interviews using structured guides and record high‑quality video.
• Apply CDI’s research protocols, flag risks, and suggest adjustments.
• Produce concise interview summaries and synthesize themes across participants.
• Review and code large‑scale document sets to support triangulation.
• Tag and organize qualitative data according to the established coding framework and naming conventions.

Required profile

• 3+ years of applied qualitative research, including interviewing and group moderation.
• Familiarity with higher‑education campus dynamics, institutional culture, or civic engagement.
• Ability to engage skeptical or senior stakeholders while maintaining neutrality.
• Prior contract or freelance experience with reliable calendar management and data security.
• Access to a quiet professional setting, reliable internet, and proficiency with Zoom.
