Nursing Supervisor

About the role

The Nursing Supervisor provides direct and indirect patient care services under a physician’s plan of care, ensuring safe and high‑quality operations across the department. This role supports staff, coordinates logistics, and drives continuous improvement in a leading health network.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily department activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies and effective communication.
• Supervise, monitor, and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of patient care, including in‑home evaluations of field staff.
• Review nursing care plans, directing staff to modify plans as needed.
• Participate in on‑call duties while maintaining confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
• Develop and deliver continuing education and orientation programs for staff.
• Identify improvement opportunities and communicate them to management.
• Serve on professional advisory, infection‑prevention, and process‑improvement committees, conducting chart audits.

Required profile

• Specialized Diploma in Nursing with at least 4 years of acute‑care RN experience.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of nursing regulations, medical terminology, patient rights (HIPAA), and relevant state licensing (RN – PA).
• Strong clinical data‑analysis skills for measuring processes and outcomes.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• American Heart Association (AHA) certification.
