Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Pediatric & Adult Neurology (Full‑Time)

About the role

This position works in a collaborative outpatient neurology model with residents, fellows, attendings and staff. Operating under the Medical Director’s supervision, the role partners with PCCs, nurses and discharge coordinators to deliver primary and urgent care, emergency stabilization, teaching and patient education.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize approved medical practice processes to deliver patient care.
• Provide care based on physical, psycho‑social, educational and safety criteria appropriate to patient ages.
• Maintain an attitude of inquiry toward medical practices and develop research methodology when needed.
• Educate patients, families, staff, other health professionals and the community.
• Adapt communication and procedures to respect patient privacy and specific population needs.
• Perform other related duties as required and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

Required profile

• Computer skills for data entry and retrieval; proficiency with Windows‑style applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal abilities.
• Working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols at department and system levels.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between facilities.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, holidays and on‑call availability.

Required skills

• Current APRN license (Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner) or Physician Assistant license with NCCPA certification.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Eligibility for prescriptive authority as defined by the state board.
• Proficiency with Windows operating system and related software applications.
