Music Therapist (MT-BC) – School Based

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated, creative, and compassionate Board Certified Music Therapist to join our Houston, TX team at The SPEAK Center. In this school‑based role you will use evidence‑based music therapy techniques to support students’ emotional, behavioral, and cognitive development.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement individualized music therapy interventions for students with a range of abilities, including special education needs.
• Conduct individual and group music therapy sessions, incorporating a variety of music‑based interventions to address therapeutic goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, speech therapists, and other school staff to develop comprehensive therapeutic plans aligned with IEP goals.

Required profile

• Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT‑BC) and a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music Therapy from an AMTA‑approved program.
• Completed at least 1,200 hours of clinical training, including a supervised internship.
• Fingerprint Clearance Card and professional liability insurance.
