Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA)

About the role

The SPEAK Center for Language and Learning seeks a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant to support licensed SLPs in a school‑based setting in Houston, TX. You will assist in evaluating and treating students with IEPs, delivering therapy sessions and helping them achieve communication goals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist licensed SLPs during individual and group therapy sessions, implementing treatment plans as directed.
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies in collaboration with the supervising SLP.
• Maintain accurate student records and progress notes in compliance with state education standards.
• Coordinate scheduling of therapy sessions and communicate updates to families and school staff.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology Assistant program (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Certification or eligibility for SLPA certification.
• Experience working with pediatric populations and a passion for helping children with speech and language challenges.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of speech therapy techniques and methodologies.
• Familiarity with therapy materials and tools used in pediatric speech‑language services.
