MS Statistics Intern

About the role

The Computational Statistician Intern will partner with experts across statistics, data science, medical, regulatory and clinical functions to lead a project that addresses research or business needs. This role offers hands‑on experience in the pharmaceutical industry and exposure to how analytics drive decisions at Eli Lilly.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize statistical programming and analysis to deliver impactful results for the Statistics, Data and Analytics organization.
• Lead a project by understanding its background, objectives and stakeholder impact.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders and present technical findings and business impact.
• Introduce innovative thinking and apply AI tools where appropriate.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a graduate program leading to a Master’s in Statistics, Biostatistics or related field.
• Strong interpersonal communication, teamwork and leadership abilities.
• Self‑management skills with focus on timely, accurate delivery of competing deliverables.

Required skills

• Proficiency in statistical programming languages/software such as R, SAS, Spotfire, WinBUG.
• Working knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis.
• Experience with AI tools (e.g., generative AI platforms, automation tools) in an academic or project setting.
