Middle School Coach (2026-27) – Non-faculty Position

About the role

This position is a non‑faculty coaching role for a middle school, anticipated for the 2026‑27 school year. The coach will design, implement, and oversee athletic program activities, ensuring compliance with sport‑specific rules and fostering a positive environment for student‑athletes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess student‑athletes to provide performance feedback and determine team placement.
• Develop game strategies, practice plans, and individual training regimes (strength, speed, agility, nutrition, injury prevention).
• Supervise student‑athletes during all program activities and serve as a positive role model.
• Maintain records such as statistics, insurance forms, emergency information, and equipment inventories to meet district and state requirements.
• Evaluate facilities for safety hazards and recommend modifications to reduce injury risk.
• Guide and mentor other coaching personnel in instructional techniques and practice organization.
• Identify program needs and recommend expenditures for equipment, supplies, and activities.
• Coordinate practice schedules, facility usage, and staff assignments to ensure efficient program operation.

Required profile

• Experience coaching middle‑school athletes and knowledge of sport‑specific rules.
• Ability to assess performance, develop strategies, and provide constructive feedback.
• Strong organizational skills for managing schedules, records, and equipment.
