Medical Technician (MLT) – Per Diem Night Shift

About the role

The Medical Technician (MLT) will perform high‑complexity, moderate‑complexity, and waived laboratory testing during night shifts on a per‑diem basis. Working in Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Hazleton facility, the technician supports providers by delivering accurate test results for diagnosis and treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute a full range of laboratory tests using advanced instrumentation and follow standard operating procedures.
• Verify, validate, and report results independently, monitoring for reasonableness and critical values.
• Conduct quality control checks, troubleshoot instrument issues, and document corrective actions.
• Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment as required.
• Provide orientation and training to new employees or students.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or specialized diploma meeting CLIA grandfathered MLT regulations.
• Less than 1 year of experience with a clinical laboratory internship.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific documents and basic English.
• Dependable, flexible schedule availability for night, weekend, and holiday rotations.
