About the role
Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks a full‑time Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety, functionality, and appearance of its facilities and grounds across Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Key responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and general services for buildings and grounds, including snow removal.
- Carry out basic electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and appliance installations, escalating to a licensed electrician when needed.
- Maintain records, complete paperwork, and attend required meetings.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED and a valid NYS driver’s license.
- At least 4 years of progressive experience in building or facilities maintenance.
- Ability to lift 50 lb, work outdoors in extreme temperatures, and stand or walk for full shifts.
Required skills
- Basic electrical repair and installation.
- Plumbing maintenance and installation.
- Carpentry and general construction work.
- Interior and exterior painting.
- Safe use of hand tools and power tools.
