Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracts (Chicago)

About the role

Aikido Security is looking for a hands‑on Legal Counsel to own its commercial legal workflows in the United States. You will work closely with sales, HR, and compliance teams to keep deals moving while protecting the company’s interests.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of customer and partner agreements, from drafting to execution.
• Review, redline, and negotiate contracts with enterprise and mid‑market SaaS customers.
• Partner with Sales to unblock deals quickly and responsibly.
• Maintain and improve contract templates, playbooks, and approval processes.
• Support HR/employment documentation and policy updates for the US.
• Coordinate external counsel when needed and assist with litigation or dispute documentation.
• Handle miscellaneous US legal matters and internal compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Based in Chicago, IL (on‑site).
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on commercial contracting experience, including NDAs and deal structures in the $50K–$100K range.
• Demonstrated experience with SaaS agreements and software licensing terms.
• Knowledge of employment and HR‑related legal matters.
• Ability to balance risk with pragmatism and work directly with sales and external stakeholders.
• Experience in a high‑growth SaaS or tech company is preferred.
