Legal Assistant (Immigration Services)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee in Seattle is seeking a Legal Assistant to support its immigration legal services program. Working under the supervision of DOJ‑accredited representatives, you will help refugees and immigrants navigate USCIS processes and participate in community naturalization workshops.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clients with clear information on immigration benefits and assist them in completing applications.
• Gather, organize, and review supporting documentation for naturalization, adjustment of status, and family reunification cases.
• Respond to client inquiries about case status and submit status requests to USCIS and the Department of State.
• Process correspondence from USCIS and DOS, notify clients of notices, and help prepare responses to evidence requests.
• Support the delivery of community‑based naturalization workshops and other outreach activities.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the supervision of legal representatives.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse client populations.
