Laboratory Associate

About the role

IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA is seeking a Laboratory Associate to perform routine hematology laboratory testing and analysis that generates accurate data for clinical trials research. The role covers specimen testing, data review, documentation, laboratory support and compliance with regulatory and quality standards. Two shifts are available: Monday to Friday 9am-6pm, or Tuesday to Saturday 2pm-10:30pm.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze specimens and document results according to SOPs and regulatory guidelines
• Evaluate results against laboratory system algorithms and flag discrepancies
• Escalate unusual findings, performance issues or potential errors to senior laboratory personnel
• Prepare buffers, solutions and materials needed for testing
• Store samples and reagents properly after analysis
• Help develop laboratory procedures, update documentation and support continuous improvement
• Support housekeeping, safety, quality and 6S initiatives
• Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders and notify staff of supply shortages

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a Bachelor's degree (some CAP/CLIA locations may require a BS in Chemistry, Biology or Medical Laboratory Technology)
• 6 months of relevant lab experience
• Basic knowledge of laboratory principles, GLP and regulatory standards
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, terminology, safety, infection control and hazardous chemical handling
• Applicable certifications and licenses where required by country, state or regulator
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk frequently, and do close eye work

• Ability to follow SOPs and regulatory requirements consistently

• Base pay range of $35,900 to $74,800 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule
