Lab Equipment Technician I – Air Department

About the role

As a full‑time Laboratory Equipment Technician in the Air Department at Onterris’ Deer Park, Texas laboratory, you will ensure that environmental sampling equipment is ready, calibrated and maintained for client projects. You will support daily laboratory operations, shipping and receiving, and inventory management to deliver accurate and timely results.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, clean, certify and repair air sampling and other environmental testing equipment.
• Prepare, calibrate and certify equipment for field deployments.
• Manage daily shipping, receiving and processing of equipment requests and samples.
• Maintain clean laboratory areas and organized equipment records.
• Track inventory across multiple sites and ensure compliance with Onterris Quality Assurance and Health & Safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand or move for most of the shift.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with database or Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) preferred.
• Knowledge of general laboratory practices and safety.
• Prior warehouse, shipping or receiving experience is a plus.
