Lab Assistant

About the role

IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, California is seeking a Lab Assistant to provide administrative and laboratory support. The role covers routine laboratory procedures, specimen processing, storage activities and laboratory maintenance, helping keep operations organized, compliant and efficient while supporting safety and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory glassware by washing, rinsing, drying, distributing and storing laboratory materials
• Clean and disinfect workstations, equipment and laboratory areas
• Prepare, label, sterilize and organize laboratory supplies, tubes, equipment and materials
• Support specimen storage, sample banking, retrieval and post-analysis storage
• Assist with equipment maintenance and routine preparation, including simple buffer preparation
• Manage laboratory inventory, supply organization and workstation cleanliness
• Follow safety, quality, regulatory and 6S requirements while keeping workflows accurate

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; some CAP/CLIA locations may require an Associate Degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology
• 6 months of experience in a regulated lab environment
• Other equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be accepted
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk frequently, and perform close eye work; occasional cold exposure

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of laboratory safety, infection control, standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling
• Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, terminology, sterilization, decontamination and hazardous waste management
• Basic computer skills, attention to detail and organizational ability
• Knowledge of safe exposure practices for chemicals and blood-borne pathogens

What we offer

• Potential base pay range of $25,300 to $52,700 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule
