Junior Field Technician - Electrical Testing & Commissioning

About the role

Centurion, an Atwell company, is seeking a Junior Field Technician to lead testing, inspection and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems such as substations and datacenters. The work location will be in Arizona, Ohio or Idaho depending on where you live. Technicians typically work four to five weeks on site followed by a week off.

Key responsibilities

• Perform visual and mechanical inspections and electrical testing on standard equipment and circuits, including meter calibrations, electromechanical and solid-state protective relays, and power quality and load monitoring.
• Assist project managers with scheduling, budgeting and billing, understand contractual scope and initiate Change Order Requests when work exceeds scope.
• Oversee the upkeep, calibration and readiness of electrical test equipment, and direct staging of tools and materials.
• Flag issues and test failures to clients, recommend corrective actions, and review final test reports and data sheets for submittal.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1-5+ years of relevant electrical field experience.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and comply with random testing per client requirements.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. (E-Verify or comparable government screening).
• NETA certification is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and strong documentation discipline.
• Clear, professional communication with clients and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently in the field while coaching others.
