IT Administrator (Part-Time)
Statusphere Inc · Orlando
Job description
About the role
Statusphere is an influencer-marketing technology platform for enterprise brands, with a distributed team of about 50 employees. As its first dedicated IT hire, you will become the go-to person for how the team gets equipped, stays secure and gets unblocked. IT is currently run by the VP of Engineering, and you will report to them initially, then to the SVP of Engineering & Technology once that role is in place. The schedule is flexible, with a preference for three days per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) or about 24-28 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day IT support, troubleshoot hardware, software, account and connectivity issues, and build a simple ticketing and knowledge base process.
- Assess the current IT and security posture, maintain a 6-12 month IT roadmap, and own tooling recommendations and the IT budget.
- Own the MDM platform (Iru, formerly Kandji), including enrollment, configuration profiles, patching, app deployment and compliance policies, and recommend a BYOD approach for personal devices.
- Administer SSO and MFA, manage the password manager (1Password) and run periodic access reviews.
- Automate repetitive work with tools such as n8n, Google Workspace admin tools and MDM workflows, and draft IT policies (acceptable use, device standards, access management).
- Run phishing and security awareness training with KnowBe4, act as first responder on incidents, and document runbooks and SOPs.
- Manage the employee and contractor lifecycle, coordinate shipping and repairs for a distributed team, and maintain hardware inventory and SaaS license tracking.
- Enforce device encryption, manage Google Workspace data retention, and manage vendor relationships.
- Support engineers with laptop standards and tool access, and work with HR, Finance and Operations on onboarding, offboarding, purchasing and budget.
Required profile
- 3-5+ years in IT support or systems administration, ideally at a startup or SMB.
- Experience as a sole or lead IT person, or building IT processes from the ground up.
- Hands-on experience with an MDM platform (Iru/Kandji, Jamf, Intune or similar).
- Experience writing and implementing IT policies, and a documentation-first habit.
- Clear, friendly communication with non-technical coworkers.
- Nice to have: SaaS management experience, incident response experience, SOC 2 exposure, AWS basics, and an associate's degree in IT or a related field.
Required skills
- Google Workspace administration
- SSO, MFA and identity management tools
- Comfort with both macOS and Windows
- Scripting or automation (Bash, PowerShell, Python, n8n or Zapier)
