Investment Manager – Venture Investments

About the role

As an Investment Manager within 3M Ventures, you will lead venture investments that align with 3M’s strategic priorities across its diverse business portfolio. You will work alongside innovative 3M teams worldwide, shaping the future of deep‑tech collaborations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute 3M venture investments, from trend mapping to deal closing.
• Develop investment themes, source and maintain a pipeline of relevant opportunities.
• Conduct due diligence, valuation analysis, and present deals to the Ventures Investment Committee.
• Manage portfolio companies, serve as board observer, and oversee post‑investment activities.
• Collaborate with business and technical leaders to create value‑adding partnership plans.
• Design creative, tailored deal structures to meet unique project objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five years of experience in entrepreneurship, business management, strategy, consulting, investment banking or business development.
• Experience in a deep‑tech field.
• Additional qualifications such as an MBA, engineering degree, VC/CVC experience, board member or observer experience, and strong negotiation skills are advantageous.
