Insurance Defense Paralegal – Remote (NJ/NY Based)

About the role

Join a minority‑owned insurance defense litigation firm that serves major carriers and their insureds. The remote‑first position supports attorneys across a range of matters, including premises liability, motor vehicle accidents, professional liability, construction, workplace accidents, and New York Labor Law.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and file pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, and motions.
• Assist with preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Gather, review, and summarize medical records, accident reports, and other case documents.
• Maintain case files, discovery databases, and document productions.
• Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions, and coordinate with clients, witnesses, and experts.
• Conduct legal and factual research and monitor court deadlines for New Jersey state and federal courts.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in legal studies or a paralegal certificate.
• Minimum 2 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of New Jersey state court rules, procedures, and e‑filing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a high‑volume practice.
