Human Resources Specialist

About the role

Swissport, a global leader in aviation ground handling, cargo handling and passenger services, is looking for an HR Specialist in Atlanta. The role supports the Manager / Generalist, HR Business Partner with the administrative and coordination side of day-to-day station HR activities, covering employee relations, performance management, staffing, turnover and retention, terminations, employee records, legal compliance, compensation, recognition and benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Support day-to-day station HR activities for employees, supervisors and managers
• Help prepare HR reports such as attendance, new hire and turnover reports
• Complete paperwork for HRIS processing and other employment or data matters
• Assist with employee onboarding, reference and background checks, and scheduling of meetings and interviews
• Help plan and coordinate recruiting events and employee special events
• Greet visitors and answer routine HR inquiries
• Maintain employee uniforms and clean, organize and stock client lounges, front office, conference rooms and kitchens, including inventory tracking and office supply orders
• Handle clerical tasks such as filing, outgoing mail, purchase orders and answering the phone
• Follow company SOPs and policies

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• HR or office experience
• Ability to handle confidential material, communicate with all levels of management, set priorities and work independently
• Attention to detail, strong customer service and communication skills, and tolerance for high administrative demand

Required skills

• MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Internet savvy
• Preferred: applicant tracking systems and mining applicant databases
