Human Resources Director

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Community Health seeks a senior HR leader to provide strategic oversight of both Human Resources and Facilities & Support Services. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Director will operate in a hybrid environment and serve as a key partner to executive leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs aligned with the department’s mission and goals.
• Oversee talent management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, compliance, learning & development, and HR analytics.
• Lead facilities and support services, including building maintenance, security, vendor management, and safety compliance.
• Provide data‑driven insights to senior leaders and drive continuous improvement across HR and facilities operations.
• Supervise and mentor HR and facilities staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior HR leadership within large, complex organizations.
• Proven ability to act as a strategic partner to executive teams and influence organizational change.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Experience managing facilities, vendor contracts, and compliance with safety standards.
