Half‑Time Youth Soccer Coach (AmeriCorps)

About the role

Coach Across America, in partnership with Southern California Youth Sports Solutions, seeks a half‑time youth soccer coach to deliver sports‑based youth development programs for children ages 5‑12 in Pasadena. The role is an AmeriCorps service term of 900 hours over one year, combining on‑field coaching with administrative support.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and lead soccer practices, clinics, and small‑sided games (1v1, 3v3 + GK) during scheduled evenings and weekends.
• Communicate with parents twice weekly, handle league inquiries, and assist with onboarding families.
• Maintain safety standards, supervise children, and ensure emergency preparedness.

Required profile

• Passion for youth development and mentoring.
• Culturally competent, able to work with diverse youth.
• Must be at least 18, U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable personal transportation and ability to meet physical demands.

Required skills

• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
