Senior Manager of International Programs

About the role

The Senior Manager of International Programs leads Cross International’s international program portfolio, turning strategic plans into effective execution, strong partner relationships, and measurable results. This hands‑on manager supervises staff, oversees program cycles, and ensures compliance and timely donor deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Translate approved program strategy into annual plans, quarterly priorities, staff workplans and maintain a master portfolio dashboard.
• Supervise, coach and hold accountable program staff, leading weekly and monthly operating rhythms.
• Oversee the full program cycle from concept development through closeout, ensuring clear ownership, budgets, outcomes and compliance.
• Lead the workflow for major foundation grants, managing proposal calendars, compliance matrices, editing, submission and reporting.
• Review and approve field‑payment requests, monitor budgets, and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Collaborate with Development, Operations and Marketing & Communications to align priorities and strengthen cross‑functional handoffs.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising program staff in an international development context.
• Strong ability to manage multiple portfolios, balance workloads and establish effective operating rhythms.
• Demonstrated expertise in grant management, compliance, budgeting and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills for partner relations, internal coordination and board reporting.
