About the role

The Future Talent Program offers a 12‑week internship in Discovery Oncology, giving students hands‑on experience in cancer research and drug discovery within MSD’s R&D division.

Key responsibilities

Design, execute, interpret and report in‑vitro experiments such as cell‑based and biochemical assays.
Develop, troubleshoot and run new cell‑based assays, including proliferation and genomic perturbation studies.
Communicate data clearly to cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
Monitor and critically evaluate published literature to guide research direction.

Required profile

Currently enrolled in a BS/BA program in biological sciences or a related field.
Available full‑time for up to 12 weeks starting May or June 2027.
Strong interest in oncology drug discovery and ability to work independently.

Required skills

Basic laboratory techniques: pipetting, solution preparation, plate assays.
Mammalian cell culture and proliferation assays.
Experience with flow cytometry and genomic perturbation methods.
Accurate data analysis and clear scientific reporting.
