Associate Scientist – Postdoctoral Fellow in Translational Imaging

About the role

The Translational Imaging group seeks a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to develop advanced MRI and MRS methods for studying skeletal muscle physiology and metabolism in metabolic disease models.

Key responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and validate preclinical MRI/MRS acquisition and analysis workflows.
• Develop and program MRI pulse sequences, including quantitative imaging biomarkers.
• Analyze complex imaging datasets using quantitative and computational approaches.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across imaging, biology, pharmacology, and data science.
• Present findings at conferences and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics, Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Imaging Science, Biophysics, Applied Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline (must hold or obtain by spring 2027).
• Strong foundation in MRI physics and magnetic resonance theory.
• Experience with MRI pulse‑sequence development or programming.
• Proven scientific productivity through publications and presentations.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaborative skills.

• Salary range $82,000–$92,000 per year
