Future Talent Program – Bioprocess Clinical Manufacturing Co‑Op

About the role

The Future Talent Program offers a 4‑6 month co‑op in Merck's Vaccines and Advanced Biotechnologies Process R&D division. You will work in the West Point Biologics Pilot Plant GMP clinical manufacturing facility on projects in automation, process operations, or capital equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Automation: develop Python code for process control, monitoring and visualization; work on GMP change controls, documentation and equipment testing.
• Process Operations: overhaul knowledge management on SharePoint, create playbooks and templates, support new equipment qualification and GMP manufacturing activities.
• Capital: specify, install, test and qualify equipment; generate documentation and execute field commissioning.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a BS/BA program in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Chemistry, Biology or a related field.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, self‑motivated, adaptable and able to maintain accurate records and follow company policies.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Process control systems (PLC, DeltaV, etc.).
• GMP manufacturing environment experience.
• Equipment qualification and documentation.
• Cell culture, fermentation or downstream purification of biologics (preferred for process operations).
