Financial Examiner – State Government

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Financial Examiner to join the Supervision team for District 5, based in Tifton. Working under supervision, you will verify the integrity of financial statements, assess assets and liabilities, and ensure compliance with state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform operations examination duties, including financial statement analysis, earnings, capital, liquidity, and asset‑liability management.
• Review Call Reports, internal controls, audit oversight, and policies to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Inspect operational functions of regulated financial institutions and act as operations manager when required.
• Conduct credit analysis on examinations and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory trends.
• Serve as a liaison and spokesperson for the Department, communicating effectively with institution personnel and other agencies.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in finance, business administration, or a directly related field.
• Completion of at least three courses in accounting and/or finance, with one course specifically in accounting.
• Ability to interpret state laws, rules, and regulatory guidance.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid schedule with flexible work arrangements.
