Field Service Engineer II – CMP

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer II you will act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading CMP equipment. You will work both in Applied Materials facilities and on‑site at customer locations, providing technical support for multimillion‑dollar production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with equipment installation, preventative and corrective maintenance, and upgrades.
• Follow training procedures and published task plans to test equipment, diagnose issues and resolve technical problems.
• Complete required documentation, safety training and parts processing procedures.
• Represent Applied Materials professionally, adhering to safety, environmental and COVID‑19 guidelines.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training or equivalent certification (Bachelor's preferred).
• 2–4 years experience in the semiconductor or equipment support industry.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on detailed documentation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Basic mechanical aptitude in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of hand tools and use of a digital multimeter.
