Fermentation Technician

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Fermentation Technician to join our demo plant production team. Reporting to the Plant Manager/Foreman, you will prepare, operate, and monitor fermentation runs, bridging lab‑scale and demo‑scale processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, operate, and maintain demo‑plant fermentation systems to ensure efficient continuous operation.
• Monitor equipment and testing instruments, making real‑time adjustments to meet yield and specification targets.
• Run and maintain laboratory equipment for process monitoring, analytical testing, and quality control.
• Execute precise sampling routines and implement data‑driven process controls.
• Collaborate with Plant Operators to analyze run data and recommend system improvements.
• Assist with hands‑on testing and commissioning activities as the facility moves toward full‑scale operation.
• Follow all safety protocols, including LOTO and PSM, and adhere to SOPs.
• Identify bottlenecks and support root‑cause analysis to resolve fermentation issues quickly.

Required profile

• 2+ years experience in biochemical or specialty chemical manufacturing, preferably in a demo plant, laboratory, or startup environment.
• Ability to work full‑time onsite on a shift schedule in a fast‑paced, “boots‑on‑the‑ground” environment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience operating and managing fermentation systems and bioprocessing equipment.
• Familiarity with both lab‑scale and demo‑scale fermenters and analytical testing equipment.
