Federal Work Study Tutor – Stay on TRACK

About the role

The Federal Work Study, Stay on TRACK Tutor provides academic support to fellow students at Southern Regional Technical College. This part‑time, on‑campus position helps students understand course material, use college technology, and navigate campus resources.

Key responsibilities

• Offer one‑on‑one or group tutoring in general education subjects.
• Assist students with college software and technology tools.
• Make referrals to campus and community resources as needed.
• Support the advisement and registration process, including greeting students and helping with academic plans.
• Perform clerical duties such as copying, assembling packets, and answering phones.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to college policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current enrollment in a credit program at Southern Regional Technical College.
• Eligibility for the Federal Work Study program and satisfactory academic progress.
• Instructor recommendation.
• Preferred: GPA of 3.5 or higher in general education courses.

Required skills

• Basic computer operation and familiarity with common software programs.
