Admissions Specialist – Technical College

About the role

The Admissions Specialist supports prospective and returning students through the enrollment process at Southern Regional Technical College. Working in a fast‑paced office environment, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, callers, and online applicants, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors and determine their needs, providing information or directing them to the appropriate staff.
• Assist prospective students with admission and readmission procedures, including program information and placement exam requirements.
• Receive, verify, and accurately enter enrollment applications, placement scores, residency, and lawful presence data into Target X and BANNER systems.
• Schedule and record admissions placement exams, and maintain accurate records in the student information system.
• Scan, index, and archive admissions and testing documents; audit records for completeness and follow up on missing information.
• Maintain inventory of admissions materials and support various registration activities.
• Participate in assessment, planning, budgeting, and professional development initiatives.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six (6) months of related administrative or customer‑service experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Target X student information system.
• Proficiency with BANNER student information system.
• Basic computer operation and familiarity with office software.
• Scanning, indexing, and document management.
