About the role

The Environmental Services Aide works the overnight shift (11 pm‑7:30 am) to keep patient, guest, public, clinical and administrative areas clean and aseptic. This position supports Ochsner’s mission of delivering exceptional care through a compassionate, inclusive team.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain assigned areas in a clean and aseptic manner.
  • Keep the environmental closet and equipment organized and sanitary.
  • Assist with restocking the café and bar when needed.
  • Support special cleaning projects and room turnover.
  • Follow Joint Commission and CMS regulations for Environment of Care.

Required profile

  • Ability to read, write and understand verbal communication in English.
  • Basic knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Flexibility to work the overnight schedule and follow directions with minimal supervision.

Required skills

  • Operation of environmental services equipment such as dust mop, wet mop, bucket and wringer, spray bottles and dustpan.
