Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

About the role

The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist will lead EHS implementation at Alfa Laval's Greenwood, Indiana facility, ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations while fostering a safe, healthy workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and document EHS guidelines, risk assessments, work permits, safety signage and chemical safety datasheets.
• Lead risk assessments, audits and follow‑up actions, and report EHS data in relevant systems.
• Organise and chair the facility safety committee, reporting to management on legislative changes and EHS performance.
• Maintain training records, coordinate mandatory trainings and ensure competence of employees and contractors.
• Manage hazardous waste program, ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement of EHS plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering with at least 5 years of EHS experience.
• Strong planning, project management and networking skills, able to work independently and influence teams.
• Self‑driven, pragmatic and comfortable taking initiative in meetings and discussions.

Required skills

• MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Power BI.
• OSHA certifications, ASP or CSP credentials, ISO program knowledge.
• Process Safety Management and hazardous waste management experience.

• Competitive base salary between $83,000 and $96,000 per year.
