Engineering Manager – Web Automation & Open Banking

About the role

zero-hash is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the team building its open banking data aggregation platform. The role combines deep technical expertise in web automation with a product‑focused mindset to deliver secure, agent‑based automation infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Research and design innovative methods for secure web automation and browser internals.
• Lead a team of engineers developing the core automation runtime, including Chrome Manifest V3 extensions and iOS WKWebViews.
• Partner with product and program managers to align the open banking roadmap and drive execution.
• Guide technical planning for secure network interception, multi‑step authentication flows, and session management.
• Recruit, coach, and develop engineers specializing in web automation, browser internals, and distributed systems.

Required profile

• 10+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience focused on advanced web automation or browser extensions.
• 5+ years of engineering management experience overseeing senior and staff‑level engineers.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Proven track record delivering production‑grade browser automation or data extraction infrastructure.

Required skills

• Deep proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript for DOM manipulation and modern web APIs.
• Strong backend experience, preferably Golang (or Node.js/Python).
• Experience with Chrome Manifest V3 extensions, iOS WKWebView, and Android WebView.
• Knowledge of WebAuthn/Passkey protocols and secure authentication flows.
• Solid security fundamentals, including secure message passing and mitigation of DOM‑based injection risks.
