About the role
The Employment Specialist supports newly arrived refugee clients in achieving self‑sufficiency through employment. Working within the IRC’s Phoenix office, the role focuses on connecting clients with job opportunities and providing comprehensive employment services.
Key responsibilities
- Develop relationships with employers and assess local labor market needs.
- Assist clients with job search strategies and application processes.
- Prepare both clients and employers for interviews and placement.
- Facilitate job placement, career enhancement, and on‑the‑job training.
- Conduct assessments, provide follow‑up support, and track employment outcomes.
- Help clients enroll in relevant employment programs and services.
Required profile
- Experience providing employment services to refugee or immigrant populations.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. labor market and employer engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple client cases and maintain detailed records.
