Human Resources & Payroll Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Human Resources and Payroll Administrator to join our Phoenix retail grocery team. You will play a key part in maintaining a positive workplace, handling payroll and supporting all HR functions.

Key responsibilities

• Greet visitors, manage phone and email communications to ensure a welcoming environment.
• Maintain confidential personnel files and process HR documentation such as UIF forms, contracts and payroll records.
• Act as a liaison between staff and management, answering queries and coordinating meetings.
• Promote employee engagement through one‑on‑ones, culture initiatives and conflict resolution.
• Assist with scheduling training sessions and onboarding new hires.
• Provide customer service coverage when needed.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of HR experience, preferably in a retail setting.
• Good knowledge of South African labour laws.
• HR certification or relevant degree plus Matric qualification.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
