Electrical Manager – High Voltage (Utility Solar Site)

About the role

The Electrical Manager will coordinate planning and execution of electrical works on a utility‑scale solar site. This role ensures high‑quality installation, oversees contractors, and acts as the liaison between engineering, site management, and field crews.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure high‑quality installation of underground cabling, module‑to‑module wiring, combiner box terminations, and DC collection systems.
• Review drawings, constructability, and submittals with the engineering team to verify compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with the Site Manager and owner’s Project Manager on schedule updates and project milestones.
• Supervise field crews, monitor safety, quality, and efficiency, and manage the interface with the power grid transmission system.
• Attend project meetings, provide liaison between engineers, contractors, and craft workers, and maintain relationships with site visitors.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in electrical installations.
• Proficiency in installation, testing, acceptance, maintenance, and repair of DC and medium‑voltage cables.
• Knowledge of current injection, Hi‑pot, capacitance discharge, contact resistance, Megger, TTR, Doble testing methods.
• Working knowledge of electrical drawings, underground duct banks, trenching, manholes, vaults, pad‑mount transformers, and SCADA systems.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Required skills

• DC and medium‑voltage cable installation and testing.
• Interpretation of electrical drawings, sketches, and prints.
• Underground duct bank and trenching design.
• Use of testing equipment: Megger, TTR, Doble, Hi‑pot, capacitance discharge.
• SCADA system familiarity.
