Hydraulic Engineer – Civil Engineer

About the role

Wilson Engineers is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Engineer – Civil Engineer to join its Las Vegas office. The role supports Northern Nevada operations and offers relocation assistance for well‑qualified candidates. It is a full‑time, onsite position working 40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, and Flo‑2D.
• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic studies and FEMA permitting, with floodplain modeling experience preferred.
• Research jurisdictional drainage requirements and incorporate them into design and construction drawings.
• Oversee production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Perform data management and create exhibits using ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Mentor EIT staff on hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of drainage experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Proficiency with HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, and Flo‑2D.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
