EHS Specialist – Environmental Health & Safety Lead

About the role
The EHS Specialist will act as a strategic partner to site leadership at Bimeda’s Pomona facility, integrating environmental, health and safety priorities into daily operations and business planning. The role focuses on strengthening regulatory compliance, leveraging data and digital tools, and fostering a proactive safety culture across the North American network.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, HR and site leadership to embed EHS ownership into routine decision‑making.
- Develop and execute EHS strategy for the Pomona site and other North American locations, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
- Use leading and lagging indicators, incident trends and audit findings to set priorities, drive actions and measure performance.
- Digitize EHS processes through electronic reporting, automated workflows, dashboards, compliance tracking and document‑control tools.
- Apply emerging technologies such as AI‑enabled tools, mobile reporting and data‑visualisation platforms to improve efficiency and user experience.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, FDA and hazardous‑materials regulations, overseeing inspections, audits, risk assessments and corrective‑action plans.
- Create and manage chemical inventories, safety‑data‑sheet systems and related compliance documentation.
- Coach leaders through incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and lessons‑learned dissemination.
- Design, implement and monitor EHS training programs, competency tracking and compliance calendars.
- Lead emergency‑preparedness, business‑continuity and spill‑response planning.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an EHS business partner or specialist in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA and FDA regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to translate EHS requirements into practical operational plans and business decisions.
- Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams to embed safety ownership.
- Track record of using data‑driven insights to influence EHS performance.
- Comfort with leading digitisation initiatives and managing change.
