Educational Aide (Part‑time) – Muscogee YDC – Midland, GA

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a part‑time Educational Aide to support teachers at the Muscogee Youth Development Center in Midland, GA. You will help create a safe, engaging classroom environment and assist with curriculum delivery for youth in a juvenile‑justice setting.

Key responsibilities

• Support teachers in planning and preparing daily classroom activities.
• Develop and prepare teaching aids such as activity sheets, drawings, and handouts.
• Present subject matter under teacher guidance using stories, discussions, and role‑playing.
• Assist individual or small groups of students with lesson assignments.
• Perform clerical duties including typing, copying, and filing instructional materials.
• Operate and maintain instructional equipment and materials.
• Observe and manage student behavior according to approved procedures.
• Participate in professional growth activities and follow district policies.

Required profile

• Associate degree in general education, sociology, or related field.
• Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate (or eligibility).
• Minimum 1 year experience in a school or related setting.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and classroom instructions.
• Child supervision skills and a caring, supportive attitude.
