About the role

The Director of Recruitment and Special Programs leads the university’s comprehensive recruitment initiatives, overseeing programs that attract freshmen, transfer, returning, and adult learners. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Strategic Enrollment, this senior position shapes strategies aligned with the university’s strategic enrollment plan.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and develop recruitment counselors and oversee federally funded TRIO programs.
• Design and implement recruitment activities such as college fairs, campus tours, school visits, and pipeline programs.
• Manage research, assessment, and technology integration for recruitment and communication plans.
• Coordinate partnership programs including Bulldog Bound, High School Ambassador, and Academic School Recruitment.

Required profile

• Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Five years of progressive admissions/recruiting experience.
• Two years of supervisory or leadership experience in a similar setting.
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM and prospect management tools.
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft Student Administration or comparable systems.
• Data analysis and predictive analytics for enrollment decisions.
• Knowledge of federally funded programs such as TRIO and Cal‑SOAP.

• Salary range up to $110,000‑$125,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
