Director of Compensation Strategy

About the role

Replit is building the world’s most widely used AI coding platform and needs a senior leader to redesign its compensation engine from the ground up. This role will translate compensation philosophy into scalable systems and AI‑enabled workflows that support fast, consistent, high‑quality decisions at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Evolve compensation philosophy across cash and equity, design salary bands, leveling frameworks, and equity structures.
• Partner with Finance on cost and workforce planning while ensuring market competitiveness.
• Operate compensation planning cycles and generate first‑pass recommendations for comp decisions.
• Build dashboards and analytical frameworks covering market competitiveness, internal equity, retention risk, and workforce cost.

Required profile

• 8+ years in compensation, total rewards, or related analytical roles, preferably at a high‑growth tech company.
• Deep expertise in salary bands, equity design, and market benchmarking (including sales and executive).
• Strong systems thinker who can translate policy into scalable workflows and decision logic.

Required skills

• Experience with tools such as Pave, Radford, Rippling, Lattice, Ashby, Carta, Google Sheets, and internal AI/automation tooling.
• Product mindset focused on users, workflows, and iterative improvement.
• Ability to design AI‑native compensation workflows and human‑in‑the‑loop validation frameworks.
