About the role
The Director of Colleague and Labor Relations provides strategic leadership and technical guidance for all labor‑relations matters, balancing colleague advocacy with organizational objectives while ensuring legal compliance and a positive workplace culture.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute employee and labor‑relations strategies aligned with organizational goals, partnering with senior leadership on workforce trends and labor‑law considerations.
- Manage day‑to‑day labor‑relations activities, including collective bargaining support, contract administration, grievance and arbitration processes, and maintaining productive union relationships.
- Lead employee‑relations functions such as workplace investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and initiatives to improve employee engagement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, identify risks, and coordinate responses to agency inquiries and employment‑related claims.
- Manage and develop the employee and labor‑relations team, providing coaching, training on labor‑relations, conflict management, and employment law.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Management, Business or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of employee and labor‑relations experience and at least 3 years leading a team.
- Strong knowledge of labor‑relations issues and applicable laws.
