Director of After‑School & Summer Camp Programs

About the role

The Director of After‑School & Summer Camp leads Mercy Street’s out‑of‑school‑time programs for K‑5 students in West and South Dallas. This senior position provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure safe, mission‑aligned, high‑quality programming.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the vision, strategy, and annual plan for after‑school and summer camp programming.
• Maintain compliance with licensing, grant, insurance, and organizational requirements.
• Design academic, enrichment, discipleship, recreation, and family‑engagement activities.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff and program leaders, ensuring proper staffing ratios and safety procedures.
• Oversee enrollment, attendance, behavior support, transportation, meals, and scheduling.
• Set program outcomes, monitor performance data, and manage the program budget.
• Build relationships with schools, churches, families, and community partners.
• Collaborate with Advancement on grants, reports, site visits, and impact stories.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, social work, nonprofit management or related field (master’s preferred).
• Five or more years of youth‑program experience, including supervisory responsibility.
• Demonstrated experience with program quality, budgets, compliance, and staff development.
• Strong leadership and family‑engagement skills aligned with Mercy Street’s Christian mission.
• Licensed Program or Site Director in Texas, current CPR and BLS certification.
